01. counterbalcne: 역으로 균형을 맞추다, 상쇄하다

04. gratify: 기뻐하다, 만족하다. satisfy와 유사

 

We got to make sure that people are aware what's actually in this legislation, because I think when they realize what's in it, they're going to be very gratified(satisfy와 유사함, 기뻐하다, 만족하다) their Federal Government working for them.

 

I was gratified to find out that the treaty had been renewed under my terms and conditions

그 특약이 내 조건으로 갱신된 걸 알아차리고(혹은 알게 되고) 매우 만족스러웠다

 

My boss was gratified when he noticed I’d join his team.

05. penalize: 처벌하다, 불이익을 주다

 

That's what tariffs do, tariffs actually penalize(처벌하다, 불이익을 주다) you for building overseas while the working families tax cut rewards you for building here something in the United States of America.

 

I want him to be penalized for drugging his friends

나는 그가 친구들에게 약물을 투여한 것에 대해 처벌받기를 원한다

 

I’ll penalize you if you don’t follow my instructions.
