The bar chart compares the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of ten countries in 2014 and 2016, measured in million metric tons per year.

Overall, China was by far the largest contributor in both years, while countries like South Korea and Iran had the lowest emission levels. Most countries experienced either modest increases or slight reductions over the two-year period.

China’s emissions rose from approximately 11,000 million metric tons in 2014 to nearly 12,000 in 2016, exceeding the combined total of the other nine countries. India followed a similar upward trend, increasing from around 2,500 to over 3,000 million metric tons.

Conversely, the United States showed a slight decline, dropping from about 6,000 to just below 5,800. Japan also saw a marginal decrease, while emissions in Germany and Mexico remained largely unchanged. Emerging nations like Iran and South Korea saw moderate increases, continuing the trend of growth among developing economies.
